“I oppose the rezone of Open Space to Industrial for the ‘Quail Brush Power Plant’ abomination. Mission Trails Regional Park is one of the largest urban parks in the United States. This power plant and the noise and pollution it would create would destroy the tranquility of this park. It is too close to West Hills High School. It would cause pollution of the Santee El Cajon Valley.
The California PUC allowed SDG&E to build a transmission line from Imperial Valley that caused great environmental harm and disturbed the Eagles nesting. Why is a power plant necessary in the first place wasn’t the transmission line supposed to supply the needed power? If California wants to be a leader in preserving the environment, Please deny the CPA initiation!”
